'Neath A Murky Moon Poem by Mark Money

'Neath A Murky Moon

Rating: 2.7

picking my way 'neath a murky moon
winding around the shapes and shadows
past dreams i could have bought on the cheap.
i hear some words i don't understand
words of pain or hope? with a foreign accent
they swing past me in the dark.
i'd like to say i'm fast enough to catch them
but i'm slowed by the shapes and shadows.
i hear their echo. they won't return any other way.

picking my way 'neath a murky moon
'neath a sky as black as india ink.
i'm focusing on the footing in these inadequate shoes;
stumbling, but keeping my mumbles to myself.....
