Never - Poem by Christine Apfelsine

We get together,
too close to breathe
But I cannot understand you,
and never understand

We are apart,
far far away
So I cannot hear you,
and never see you again

Maybe one day,
before I die,
I would tell you the truth in my mind,
if you could be with me

Or you may have known
the secret
But you will never have the chance,
to listen to me to say:
I love you more than the world
