Never Try To Correct My Grammar - Poem by Dillip K Swain
I am a grammarian
I have written a book entitled,
‘Basics of English Grammar'
Meant for secondary students
This was published in 2007.
Modern grammar is different from traditional grammar
Sometimes grammarians differ
Most significantly, a poet does not require grammar
He has the autonomy to shuffle words order
I am surprised to notice that I am being criticized
For writing bad English…
If this happens in my case
What about persons from other fields?
English is an international medium of communication
With a lot of local variations!
Please don't harass any budding talent
We love and respect all aged and seniors
We understand the value of age
But when we are attacked anonymously/openly
We defend…please don't mind
Please don't discourage anybody
Regarding his style of writing
Poem Hunter won't encourage this trend!
Be impartial…be friendly
Have a peaceful life!
