Night Rain Poem by Scott Stanley Davis

What is it about rain that is in the night, for you cannot see the clouds without sunlight; as you sleep on a soft bed with covers over your head, but there it is a drip drop instead; It does not interfere with the atmosphere, this I know is so clear; As you rest on a your bed, then must wake up to close the window, as it rains on the weeping willow and not on your pillow you just fled. A rain that causes a good nights rest without pauses, should get applauses; Most everything stops at night, but there a rain can remain without being detained; and this I will not complain, but it will not stop a military campaign; As the dawn begins to sun, all natures Rejuvenation has begun, as the birds get a good meal from the worms just revealed; The flowers and the plants reach up to the morning sun, and spread there roots they just spun, and this is good in the long run; Now there you have it, as plants and animal would rather have it, with human beings and all other species, get a night rest and a good feeling, and all this is done without ever seeing the sun is revealing.
