Nightmares - Poem by Bob Tyler
A child wakes up sobbing,
The mother comes to comfort him,
She asks 'what's wrong? '
The kid says,
I had a dream that daddy went away and never came back,
Two months later the parents start to fight,
One night the father comes home drunk,
He takes his mother to their room,
Later that night the house is swarming with police,
The cheif asks the kid what he saw,
He replies in a slow, stunned voice,
I had another dream,
This time they both went away and never came back.
