Nine Lives Poem by Adwiti Subba Haffner

Nine Lives

Nine lives,
nine shadows
and nine thousand fates later
I bear you in my shadows..
And my seekings…still.

I roam the streets,
Dark alleys and passageways,
scaling moonlit stares, stairs.
Perched inside darkness
domes and arches
morphing into ancient structures
I prowl, I growl, I howl, I scowl,
I fight..
I feel…..

Precise and perfect,
The weapon
I carry
That defends the ferry
That your breath shelters..
Our destiny..
I fall for you
With you,
again in my shadows.
