Not A Word She Sighs - Poem by Sarah Ford

Not a word she sighs.
Not a sentence she breathes.
She sits in timid silence,
observing everything around her.
She remains unnoticed;
a silent, empty seat;
content in her silence.
No one speaks to her.
She likes it that way.
She wishes she could just sit in silence,
but her thoughts are interrupted by his voice.
He is the only one she wishes to speak to.
Everything he says is important to her;
she hangs on his every word,
absorbing the sound of his voice.
She wishes that she could talk to him;
tell him how she feels,
but she remains quiet,
never speaking her feelings for him.
Not a word she sighs.
Not a sentence she breathes to him
and she never will.
