Nude - Poem by Conor Young
You lie next to me
With your arm around my neck
And your mouth drawn up to my ear
Breathing fast you whisper those deadly three words
Lamplight smiles down on to us from the bedside
The light steals all the tone out of our skin
For the time being we are exactly the same colour
I have trouble telling whose body is whose
We are one.
Soft breasts pushing down on my torso
I have no problem
When we are together I have no worries
What’s my biggest problem?
Knowing I’ll have to go soon
All I want is to have you breathing on my neck forever and more.
