One Step Backward Taken Comments

Rating: 2.8
Not only sands and gravels
Were once more on their travels,
But gulping muddy gallons
Great boulders off their balance

Robert Frost
Andrew Hoellering 29 December 2009
This sounds like a step in time, and in the right direction. The poem is surely a metaphor for standing back and not following the crowd. The ‘one step backward taken’ is significant. Discretion may be the better part of valour, but it may look like cowardice to those hell-bent on fashionable disaster.

This is a great poem that can be understood if you open your mind
