Our Daily Visit Poem by La Wanda Parks

Our Daily Visit

When you see the sun inch slowly away
that will be me having one last look at your day.
When you see a star fall out of the skies
that will be a tear leaving my eyes.
When you see a petal from a rose as it doth part
that will be me when I broke your heart.
When the early morning breezes fill your air
that will be me rearranging your hair.
When you are watching the ripples across your lake
that will be me searching for your face.
When the wind dips forth and grasps the sand
that will be me holding your hand.
When you see a little squirrel and speak with it
And it stops dead still to listen,
that will be me when you said "goodbye" and I died
In that one second.
When our little bird starts singing
But he is not there...that will be me.
