Our Eternal Home
I met a doctor who had cancer,
He could not believe it was stage four.
At sixty, to me he was younger,
He said he still had a lot to live for.
I saw the despair in his eyes,
The hopelessness there and the great pain.
Life is so short and before we realize
Our days are ending, a brief time remains.
There was no cure that I could bring,
Only the comfort of words and prayer.
I asked the LORD for mercy and healing
For I trusted God Who is the true Healer.
I told him that Jesus is the only Way,
And this doctor believed that He died for us.
He received Christ as LORD and Savior that day
And the new life God gives that is so precious.
Death is the fate of all men on earth,
Our eternal home has rooms for me and you.
God's Word does not return void, it goes forth
In Christ we will live though we die, it's true!

Most beautiful Devotional, dear Cynthia. Indeed (I cite yiur two concluding lines: God's Word does not return void, it goes forth In Christ we will live though we die, it's true! I like this profound devotiona very much. Each quatrain contains God's love and power. He IS our only HOPE and WAY. Amen!
