Out Of The Forest Of The Night - Poem by Rebecca Rowback

In the forest of the night
I was lost
Confused
Endangered
I ran and I ran
I fell to tears
I cried each night
Until I could cry no more
I waited for the pain to return
In the forest of the night

Each day I woke up
And I tried to find my way
But every time it just ended up the same
I was just that little girl
She was so lost, scared and confused
She didn’t know what to do
In in the forest of the night

More days went by
And i became less scared
That little girl was fading
She was growing older
I was finally finding my path
In the forest of the night

I met this guy
Who showed me no need for fears
His lips were of pure love
And his eyes were filled with hope
He showed me the rest of the way
He's the reason light shines
And the reason
I'm no longer in...

The forest of the night
