Pantomime Poem by Parul Panthri

Pantomime

Rating: 4.5

Retouch the makeup
Wear an expensive smile
Forget who you are
Forgive yourself for doing so.
You have to face the jury
Go through th trivial trial
Dissolve the caustic remarks in Cognac
And down it in a go.

They spared you the agony of facing the facts
Everything was concealed well
No one could see the deep crevices behind the fancy wallpaper
Another story concieved
Another lie to tell.

Look here is today's Times
All recieved the cocktail well
Not an ounce of doubt on their faces
They believe you cast the spell.

A moments breather
'Run' tear the covering
Touch the cracks, feel their depth
One tear, two tear
No time for third
The secret should be kept.
