Paradise/Heaven Poem by Rokket Grrl

Paradise/Heaven

Rating: 5.0

You broke my heart then ran away
You just left because you wouldn't stay
My tears only helped carry your sailboat further
And my hands only made letting go harder
The rain poured down from endless clouds
And laughter disappeared into the mourning sounds
I thought that the sunshine would never come
And I had no idea what I would become
But then I met him and my world flipped
My stars shifted and my galaxy tipped
The sun came back into regular orbit
And I climbed out of this dark pit
I'm into the sunlight with him by my side
I know we are both ready for the ride
He won't bale on me like you did
Or like you and how you ran and hid
Because paradise can fade and turn to dust
It can ship and shape and turn to rust
But heaven is there, always to stay
It will come to me when paradise runs away
Without my loss of paradise I'd never of found this
I'd never been happy without that dreadful twist
Because when you find heaven you'll finally get off the ground
Because sometimes when paradise is lost, heaven is found

Wow! By the way, are you alluding to john Milton's Paradise Lost?
