Picture A Snap-Shot - Poem by Alexandra Connell

If Kenneth Branaugh is an English teacher's wet dream
And poets are just emotion spewers
And plays are just snap-shots of exaggerated reality
And words are just a high school kids medium of expression
Then what are we becoming?
If we are anti-emotion robots
Who trade experiences for videos
Who trade confrontation for passivity
Who trade passion for logic
What are we expecting from humanity?
If we are no longer living for one another
Because no one cares enough
Because no one will ever trust you
Because we need no one but ourselves
How can we create a relationship?
If Kenneth Branaugh is an English teacher's wet dream
And poets are just emotion spewers
And plays are just snap-shots of exaggerated reality
And words are just a high school kids medium of expression
Then how are we coming to terms with what the world is becoming?
