Politicians And Priests - Poem by Jabulani Mzinyathi

i have listened to them speak
speaking from the pulpit
i have listened to them speak
speaking from the podium

i have heard them instill fear
that is the root of their message
this one here talks of hell
another wields lots of weapons

they speak from the podium
they speak from the pulpit
and the people must just listen
listen and never ask questions

for too long we have been under the stand
now we have to be over the stand
some of the prophets driven by profits
while politicians do not walk the talk

An insightful analogy nicely juxtaposed. A well thought-out poem. Thanks for sharing Jabulani. (Report)Reply
