Preface - Poem by Jeffrey M Lewis
Come again, gentle breeze and whisper in my ear
the dawn just woke and the systems broke
and soon everyone may live in fear.
Remind me how the day can be bright
tell me again why we live and what I can give
because everything to me right now seems a little trite.
We have broken away from contentment and balance
so now I must just sit here in disgust
wanting to make a difference in the world but never given a chance.
Wind please whisper to me so I'll know which way to blow.
As I look around and begin to stand my ground,
for family and love are the only truths I will ever know.
So for now it seems i have to make a stance
like a knight, given orders to fight
but never even given a lance.
