Pretending That Everything Is Fine (When It Is Really Not) - Poem by Liz Munro

My anger for you runs very deep
and i struggle to contain it's firely heat,
i do not think my love for you was ever true,
and if it was, well i just don't remember
Because my heart, for you, burns with this anger.

Although you are - or were - my lover
that does not mean we are very close, to each other.
and although i still live under the same roof as you,
Does not mean we are not through.

But how i am really feeling, you do not know,
i want to pack up, and go,
really just spread my wings, and fly,
leave you and everything - and not say goodbye.

But for unknown reasons, i still stay,
even 'tho it is getting harder to live this way, everyday,
And i do not know why, i keep this facading lie -
of pretending everything is fine - when it is really not.

I like the poem. Reminds me of my ex-wife! She taught me a lesson by leaving me and coming by to see how painful her departure affected me! Those were the good times we shared. L (Report)Reply
