Queen Kong Gets Revenge For The Death Of Her Mate: King Kong …[ Fantasy; Inspired By Valentin Savin, P-H Friend; ' Short ' ]

Rating: 5.0

Many know the story of King Kong and his death;
kidnapped from Skull Island, he had his last breath
…as bullets from planes killed him in New York City
…where he'd been put on display. It was a City pity.

But K.K., unknown to kidnappers, had a big queen,
who saw her mate taken while she was NOT seen.
Both King & Queen (& others?) towered 70 feet tall;
to her, a man could fit in her hand; men were small!

Somehow his Queen arrived unnoticed in the U.S.,
& it was there she really caused..a big bloody mess.
Streets of Manhattan Island, at site of K.K.'s demise*,
were full of panicked walkers & drivers, no surprise!

She crushed some underfoot. Some she bit in half.
She then dined on a head, an arm, buttock, or calf.
Planes flew past her, but were swatted like flies.
Humans who tried to kill her were in for surprises:

She had skin thicker than the great ape she'd loved,
and MORE apes appeared, and with MALICE shoved ….
thousands of humans into the NYC island's two rivers,
while the Queen watched, ….dining on men's livers!

By the time Navy ships got on scene, to blast away,
the apes had disappeared! ! No more did apes ‘play'
…with humans alive or dead. Revenge the apes had! !
NO more will men, now, make apes of Skull Island mad!

POET'S NOTES ABOUT THE POEM
Years ago (2015) I submitted to P-H:

My Name Is Kong: Wrong! ….. [ Movie ‘ Monster '; From The ‘ Monster's ' Mouth **; A Bit Long; For Brian Johnston's P-H May ‘contest']

I don't knowwhy I used "Wrong! " in the title!

This year I shared the poem with some member-friends, and Valentin Savin suggested I write another showing men 'getting their due'***....from someone...?

** "from the mouth of" means to me: spoken by (someone)

*** "getting their due" means to me: getting what is deserved, often something NOT good

Oct.5th 2020 -

My PH friend, Valentin Savin sent this to me in October 2020 after we had discussed my poem and his idea for an updated version about Kong being 'reincarnated'? ? as some form of ME, bri aka Brian, on the coast of California. I can't say i completely understand it, but here is an offering from Val:

Brian,

Listen here and enjoy my vision.

King Kong is live again
King Kong's alive again, it's me - Bri!
Don't feel sorry for the Big Guy.
People screamed to see me well.
Yes, I am alive and strong as hell.
I don't really mean you any harm,
Don't you fuss and make no alarm.
I cаme to take revenge on my enemies
You may still continue live in peace.
I'll make some pretty skulls of them.
Who left all their tails behind 'em!
I was hunted like a wild beast.
Upon their blood I wish to feast!
There will be an Island fool* of skulls
On a cliff with shrieking seagulls.
Those who wish their skull removed -
Bring certificate by doc approved!
The sound of breaking skulls I love
With the moon when shining above.
Hollywood will make of it a movie …..
Some may think it scary, others groovy.

Reflecting on the biggest Hollywood hit king kong and her queen...very beautifully portrayed every word, scene, emotions and morals. An encaptivating truth we all often wants to ignore but it still remains true. Be the builder not the destroyer. Think constructive and not destructive. Respect everyone.

A fascinating story, Bri! It goes to show that if you want something done right, get a WOMAN to do it!

Brian, you know well, I did not inspire you to revenge this way. I sent you my own version of King Kong's revenge. You are pleased to share it whenever you wish.

Bri........... you have created a revenge queen even more powerful than King Kong! Her indignation over the killing of her husband made her boil with vengeance and she unleashes her fury over the people of Manhattan. She 'dined on men's livers'! Your imaginary character has assumed life like dimensions and the whole description is matchless!

Thank you, Bri. Your poem " My Name is Kong" , as I understand it, is about “your ancestors on the Scull Island”. You were one of them, captured and killed. I wanted you to be reborn and take revenge on your murderers, making skulls out of them.

Sweet revenge for killing of a mate, or just a taste for man's flesh? Either way an interesting take on this story. Your poem brought back fond memories of staying up late watching KK & Fay Wray. You have a gift for fine storytelling. " No, it wasn't the airplanes. It was Beauty killed the Beast" QtR
