Rabbit Ears Poem by Rovert Nworb

Rabbit Ears

Rating: 1.0

Give me all hope -
Every sun, moon and star
Give me the wrath of Poseidon,
Give the goddess of the grass my wishes
Give to the east my sorrow
and to the west my death
A thousand naked sons of Africa,
poised on the starting line across the barren
world of Picasso and light
Speak to me, triangles of triangles
jumbled jazz counterpoints and fellatio
Dig deep down into the last layer of passion
Sprawled out into hands and feet
rolling alongside the endless days we live
Spitting into the wells and gutters
dirt clods hammers and burnt toast
Fingerprints of a hand of hands
Moving, weaving through
the threads shifting in tomorrow
Rabbit ears

The kiss of night is roasting
my ears like an avacado
or insecure volcano
Passing me like a recurring roadsign
day after day on a procreation highway
Investing timeless energy in the preservation
of my tattered virgin eyes
Which still cannot help but dart fourth
across the faces of each person I see
as my face is on fire in memory of the last kiss
the greatest memory and the annihilator of
all other fears
I could fly to the moon and back forgetting
the limitations of physics
live underwater for a hundred years and
run with the speed of light
tickle the dead and laugh with the future
Commanding commonplace suggestions of a
musical oblivious nature
Oh
Rabbit ears
