~rain~ - Poem by Candie Saldana

The softly falling rain
like a fine mist as it wets
the perfect curve of my mouth
like lipstick it shines
the parting of my lips to taste
the wetness, the dampness
on my skin
while it feels cold
makes me think of warm dew
another thought of another time
walking in silence as the rain falls
feeling and living each drop
wondering who else feels it tonight
the passion that comes
from these little droplets of wonder
the sensual calm of the stillness
as it reaches deep inside me
yearning for more
than the few drops of water
or blood
that flows within my veins
hot as the steam that rises
from far below
my hand smoothing my hair
as it touches my shoulders
clothes clinging to my curves
like a long-lost lover
of a different time a different place
and still I wonder
who else feels it tonight?
