Rainy - Poem by Gordon Jerome

I sit in the window watching the rain
I love how it drips off of each little pane
It runs through the gutters down to the ground
Creating a rattling and yet quiet rumbling sound
I watch as it gathers on the now moistened leaves
Then slips from their edges as quick as you please
It helps to make everything smell fresh and sweet
And creates puddles too splash in by many a feet
I love rainy days with its hot cocoa and ice cream
A soft cuddly blanket and a chance just to dream
Or maybe some cookies fresh from the oven
Filled with chocolate and plenty of lovin.
“closing thought”
Never let your memories live just in the past
Create a new memory each day that will last
