Reflection - Poem by MonicaRae Santos

You're always blinding, mesmerizing
Reflecting from eyes hypnotized by
Light intentions showing all the brighter sides, of what?
I don't want to see them, seeing me, I don't want to
Share disapproving air.

Attempting to sleep through color illuminated
Visions, hoping that's all they ever were

Light is too
Bright, pictures burned into memories iris
Can't get these faces, these places
Out of mental mazes
Hands of destruction disassemble
Upon creation

Smoke muffles mind slowing time, which sparked
Thirty hour days, that won't subside

Your iridescence dims, it is time to hide your
So-called brighter side

Man on the moon come out and play
Seeking what is found
Underneath, casting suspicious shadows through
Windows of rooms in houses
Some gaze out, while others seek subconscious

But I know what lies behind pale intrusions

Your true deception fellow
Dreamers were always on the inside
