Requiem - Poem by Nicholas Tan

Here you lie
How the mighty have fallen
Your Dreams?
Your Future?
What do they matter;
They are lost to you.

Here you lie
Does a still heart feel sorrow?
Does a lifeless face smile?
What of feelings;
You don't feel them.

Here you lie
Do you see it?
A light at the end of a tunnel?
I doubt it;
Your eyes are hard and cold,
Like stones in harshest winter.

Here you lie
Does a still heart feel sorrow?
Do dulled eyes see a truth?
Wings stripped away;
Death is you.
