Restless Rest - Poem by Michael P. McParland
Lying here tonight restless,
I'll drift off a bit then wake again.
Beautiful thoughts of you
fill my heart and mind,
then the longing need to hold you begins.
Remember dear it's not you that makes me sad,
it's the not being with you
and you being so far away that hurts me.
You make me happy while the circumstance
often makes me so sad and weepy.
I miss my lady so good and classy
I just want to hold you and kiss you.
A restless night of rest because
I wonder how you are doing
and I can feel your aching
and lonely need to be held within you.
We both so need to hold each other
and it hurts all this distance.
I love you my dear darling and you are my Angel,
I want you to look in my eyes
and see all the love that is within me.
I want to share my whole life with the woman
who's more important than anything
in heaven, on this planet, or in the universe.
I just want to lay here and hold you
talking and resting in peaceful contentment.
A restless night of rest for both of us
and I'm sending you all of my warmth and love
to help you feel safe and protected,
wrap up in my strength like a big comfy blanket
feeling so relaxed and deeply cozy,
knowing you're okay will truly help me
because as long as you are okay
that's all that truly matters.
I love you sweet Kira and I am right there with you,
I'm holding you close giving sweet and deep
yet gentle loving kisses.
Let's rest our heads together and end this night
of restless resting comfortable and peaceful
sleeping in fulfilled harmony together.
