Revelation - Poem by Sean Godley

Four moments birdsong stopped and forests did
Not move with wind or beats and I
Felt calm before the storm of worry came.

Earthquakes coming conversations
Trailed away and realised
Their insignificance and the
Futility of effort. the

Sky turned red with rage
and fear The sun burnt out
to show the moon Which cracked
and fell with stars the trees
retreated to their roots

the plants all fell
and quickly rotted
in the lifeless
mud that swirled
to pools And sucked
us in with every
thing The Earth
devoured itself
left nothing But
A quiv
ring noth
A quiv
ring noth
