Roach Motel - Poem by mark bennett

there is a month's worth of dishes in the kitchen sink. the kitty litter needs changing... that cat's shit is beyond stink. the garbage is over-flowing. its all over the floor. yesterday morning, Ma Bell turned off the phone, and the water went last week. the next thing to go will be the electricity... but that doesn't bother me. i don't watch that much T.V. i just wish the refrigerator was running because i like my beer cold... or that i could have one hot shower... because, this business about taking bathes in the retention pond is getting old. but, there are roaches in the ashtray; so, i can't complain about the roaches crawling up the wall. and if it wasn't for the neighbors I'd have no roaches at all.
