Robb Elementary School Angels Prayer Poem by Tim Labbe

Robb Elementary School Angels Prayer

Rating: 5.0

They pressed
their hands together,
one, against the other
and prayed.

21 frail souls.

Eyelids closed.
Hope hoped
the Moon had hoped.
Innocence, along
with it's
laughter, had hoped.

They pressed
their hands together,
one, against the other
and prayed.

21 frail souls.

All of the seasons
and the
star-filled heavens
had hoped.

Hope hoped.

Both, possibilities
and potential
had hoped.

26 Sandy Hook Angels Prayed.

The rose and every
one of its thorns had
hoped.

Even
anguish
and despair
had hoped.

Hands pressed together,
one, against the other
in impassioned prayer.

21 frail souls.

Eyelids closed.

When will our heartbreaking, unrelenting mourning end?
When will we ever stop the murder of innocence?

Tim, this is one of those very special poems that puts the reader right into the scene. I was right there with the victims. Praying with them. Sincerest thx for the Sandy Hook Angels reference. Outstanding!

Thank you, Richard. Another tragic, heartbreaking and unimaginable loss of innocent lives.

Thank you, Richard. My broken heart prays for illegal possession of assault rifles by civilians and 10 bullet maximum capacity magazines.

Thank you, LeeAnn. The sadness of such a senseless, violent, horrific slaughtering of innocence is beyond words. I'm heartbroken

Pertinent poem, but fails to address the real issue.

Part 2. The US systems have failed severely to promote family values, attachments and mental health of the young generation. Their emotional needs! The shooter in the incident has no family but for an addicted mother. His school failed to address this.

A most tragic incident. But corroborates the opinion that there is a significant number of people in the US, who are racists, white-supremacists and mentally challenged. That he chose a school where the students were predominantly Hispanic, speaks for itself.

Thank you, Unnikrishnan. The many ills of our country cannot be addressed by mere words. But hopefully will give pause to those who need enlightenment.
