Rosaries And Dollar Bills Poem by Uriah Hamilton

Rosaries And Dollar Bills

Rating: 5.0

She departed the party room
Of mixed drinks and expensive perfumes
And walked down the boulevard of midnight flowers
Winding her way through an incongruous gathering
Of disorderly reprobates who were oddly sweet and gentle.

She prayed outside of bars and party stores,
The neon temples of street salvation;
She fell in love with every majestic insane bum.

She made a deal with God
To give homeless people rosaries and dollar bills
And to always have simple faith in humanity.
