Hope Mendoza

Rose - Poem by Hope Mendoza

The rose I give you holds all of my heart and the love within it
It dwells within your hands your responsible for my rose
To keep my love save and sound at night to watch over me while I drift into unconscious fantasies
You disappear in my dreams when you should be in front of me
Eye to eye lips to lips body to body
But before I lay in my cozy bed I have flashbacks of how happy you make me each day
I fall fast into my dreams of perfect sightings of your indescribable face
The perfect lips the perfect eyes the perfect lover to my endless rose of love

One last breathe before I lose you
Thats all that i need to do when my life is flashing before my eyes
Without you I would be taking the last breathe my heart can take
Why can this happen?
Dieing from a broken heart I slowly wither off
My rose I gave to you is crumbling slowly
My breath gets shorter by the minute without you
I would be taking my one last breathe
But as I hold you in my arms again my heart can finally breathe softly
Your my air that I breathe
Without you I would die off not being able to breathe you in
