Rules Poem by stacy ferkol

Rules

We follow them like broken soldiers
I let my emotions smolder
I pretend to veer
But they pull us together like a herd of deer

I play along with this silly game
I let them believe I am tame
I plan is riot
Hopfully I get to try it

I break free of this maze
And shake my head in amaze
So much bad
I miss the rules just a tad

You've got anger and fear
And can't forget the smell of beer
I run back just as fast as I can
Without a single glance at what I hope to be man.
