Pen Pal

Sadness - Poem by Pen Pal

You belong in the dark place in my mind,
Behind the happy memories,
I keep you somewhere hard to find,
Tucked beneath my dreams and hope,
In a box I have you locked,
And I’ve thrown away the key,
But wait!
Somehow I see you,
Not clear, but somehow clouding all my judgement
No, I don’t see you, but I know that you’re there,
In everything I think and feel, I sense your glare,
Like it’s you watching me,
Judging my actions and thoughts,
That’s it, you’re not me,
So why are you still here?
