Sahyadri Moans - Poem by Leonard Rebello
In the deep valleys of the Sahyadri fort
She lost her heart to the bellowing mist
Where am I she wailed, why did I come?
Her mind lost to the wails and moans of the wind
She screamed out and took it all out on the only person she could
Is it fair he wondered all he wanted was his loving friend
The tears came in floods but perhaps they weren’t as salty
As the last time she sat alone on the damned bus depot
She screamed gave back the only way she could
He banged his head hard trying to understand it all
The simple things just couldn’t get into his head
Complexities were left far far behind
Why, when does this shit happen?
Will there be any let up or will it be just the same ol rut
Simple things complicated
Complicated stuff magnified
Life fucked up in all its gory inside
There seems to be no let up
There seems to be no let go
The mountains in all their majesty
Seem to be the only witness at the edge of the city …..
