Saturday Afternoon Poem by Tim Larsen

Saturday Afternoon

Rating: 5.0

I’ve fallen in love with Saturday afternoons
Especially when I roam 3rd street
And watch the dew-like activity
Fluster out onto the street
And listen to the chanting beat
Of anything but monotony

I remember most on Saturday afternoons
Slipping into the slippers that I slipped
Off last night so quickly so as to slip into bed
And it feels so warm to feel the soft lining
Coat my cold toes and remind me of last night
When I explored what it felt like to feel the wind
Under my feet

And I love to walk out of the door
Even on December 3rd
And feel the wind, whatever it may be,
Blast my open coat and make
Me feel like I’m at sea
Make me feel like you and me
May be more than just a quick feed

And I feel alive walking down the street
Which reminds me, just like the
Slippers that warmed my cold toes
This morning, of last night
And what it did to me.
