Schuylkill Poem by Barbara Corner Ackroyd

Schuylkill

Rating: 4.0

There is an area called Schuylkill Haven,
the hills and valleys are tranquil, almost like heaven.
From atop the hillsides all lush and green,
Mother Nature bestowed her beauty, with views to be seen. There are hidden railroads, streams, canals and rivers too.
Century old farmhouses and a one-room school house too.
There is Yuengling Brewery, the legendary Molly McGuires,
a court house in Pottsville, where justice transpires. Bees, butterflies, locusts and ants,
humming birds, rabbits, groundhogs and chipmunks.
Deer, raccoons, a bear or two,
if you love the outdoors, rural district one is for you.
