Searching - Poem by Pete Burgess

It's falling to pieces,
The world's coming down;
Wars and catastrophies,
Plagues all around.
In this world of plenty,
We barely stay alive.
Causing these disasters,
Desperate to sursive.
(Chorus :)
And now it's nearly over,
The wall is crashing down,
Leaving me forever,
All alone.
And everyone around me,
Is blinded by their fear,
Leaving me to fight this,
On my own.

Searching for a hero,
Someone to make it right,
Striving for some justice,
Changing black to white,
Listening forever,
For the words we need to hear.
Hoping in our hearts,
That the end of this is near.
(chorus)

I'm getting out of here, finding a new life.
I'm getting out of here, to start again.
I'm escaping from this world, I'm finding a new life.
I'm going to win this fight and start again.

And now it's nearly over,
The wall is crashing down,
Leaving me forever,
All alone.
And everyone around me,
Might me blinded by their fear,
But I'm going to win this,
On my own.
