Seeing God In All Things - Poem by Benjamin Goudberg

Night versus Day
Black versus White
This is the world we live in
Yet it should not be so
We could be colorblind
But in the best of ways
Meaning that it would not matter
The color of our skin
But rather the color of our souls
Life would be different if we ask
Everyday what we wanted for society
Rather than ourselves
To improve the status of the world we live in
Seeing with a new set of eyes
Hoping with a new heart
Loving with a new hug
Why not more
Our lives we control
Lived to less than what they could be
When will we change the stupidity of it all
is when we see God in all things
He has always been there
Quietly working in our lives
Some might see him on a day to day basis
While others choose to ignore the influence
Calling them to the Magis - the more
Better-ing one's self and the place he calls home
A community of Saints here on Earth
Breathing life into each waking moment
Searching for a reason to it all
For now, has passed and it is a different present
One where I am in control
Rather.... No
I am a passenger
The car without a destination
Merely a journey that is completely unplanned
Without this I am nothing
Just a student looking for answers
To find God in All Things
