Shadows Poem by Harley Halford

Shadows

i eat each pill like sweet, savory candy. it's not long before i become part of the shadows that surround me. my mind and soul are slowly drifting away from my body. things become unclear and my eyes play tricks on me. i see what i want, what i love. her face gets scrambled in my blurry, hazey vision and darkness overtakes my mind. slowly, i drift into a peaceful sleep, never to awake again.
