I went up to my mum and dads on a Wednesday night
I always went up there with my kids and my wife
I sat with my dad on this particular night
Talking about poetry and wishing I could write
See I always wished I could write like my dad
He said I'm sure you will one day, I'm sure you will lad
As much as I tried I couldn't get it right
But one day it happened, the day I could write
The poems started coming so thick and so fast
I hope this lasts for ever for ever it Must last
Were ever I look what ever I see
there's a poem hiding deep inside me
