Forgive me father i have seen
Everywhere I have been
They kneel to pray to you
And claim they know you
Talk to you
And that they are coming to you
Yet the air we breath is you
The earth we till is you
Every creature is you
You gave us science
The silence of science
To derive all we need
Out of greed, beyond our need
We destroy them in your name
Without shame.
Forgive me, father i have been
Everywhere i have seen.
The lack of science
The lack of silence
People turning to philosophy
Religions full of apostrophe
Apostles
Father, i am amazed
Even fazed
Mortals feign annoyance
With arrogance
On your behalf
In a huff
Despite the threat of judgement day.
When, they say, you will have your say.
See the big churches they build
With diamonds they form a guild
See the millions of souls they pull
The hapless flock they fool
What has that to do with you?
I wish i knew.
yet you are quiet
Silent
