Silence The Blade Poem by Melissa Franks

Silence The Blade

As I sit there waiting for tears to rush down,
I suddenly find the reasoning through the crowd,
My arms long for the blade I call my friend,
I need to touch it to my skin creating to best sin,
As the blade digs deeper I feel the release,
As I sit there all broken and defeat,
My tears dropp down black as my eyes were today,
And I wipe all the blood and pain away,
I stretch my arm to get another familiar band aid,
Hiding the fact that its there so I don't need to say,
Standing with shaking knees,
I guess this time I cut a little too deep,
As I pull my sleeves down and go about my day,
I tried to, but the blood just won't go away,
I fall to my knees and my arm is numb,
As the blood drips down slowly from my thumb,
I peel my sleeve up to see how deep I cut,
Then i see all the blood and suddenly its too much,
Suddenly I see lights all around,
And to my surprise I can not make a sound,
Suddenly my dad sits there with tears rushing and heads bowed,
I want to wake up! Please wake me up now! ! !
My arms are no longer bleeding I can not feel a thing,
As I lay there unable to move WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO ME! ! ! !
Someone please tell me please let me know what is wrong,
I knew the possible reason but I would not believe,
I didn't want to die, No there is no way I can leave,
My dad sits there broken and I watch as he falls,
He was the only one there for me through it all,
I know the pain wasn't worth losing my life,
All because of this stupid knife,
My spirit felt weighless like I had to let go,
There was so much I wanted my dad to know,
I was going to stop cutting after today,
But before I knew it, it was way to late,

I like the story and you did really well through poetry. I like the panic feeling at the end and then you kind of make it all calm. Great piece
