Sitting Under The Moon - Poem by Alexandria Bunch

Alone I sit here in the moonlight,
listening to the wolves howl,
waiting for someone to come,
and save me from this nightmarish town.
Alone I dream of leaving here
and dancing in the sun,
but knowing that will not happen,
I sit here being the only one.
The only one,
wanting to fight back,
but too weak to stand.
The only one,
trying to speak,
but not wanting to upset another.
Trying to speak,
but cant find that voice,
that voice in my head,
the one i use as comfort,
the one i use as my heart.
It tells me I need to stand,
but my legs don't budge.
Why have I been left here,
with only myself to comfort my aching heart?
Why have I been left here,
all alone.
