Sleep's Departure Poem by Lalit Vivekanand Kamble

Sleep's Departure

Sleep's Departure

Your absence crept, like midnight's shade,
And stole sleep's peace, from my heart's aid.
The bed, once warm, now cold and grey,
Echoes memories, of your gentle sway.

The pillow bears, the scent of your hair,
A bittersweet reminder, beyond compare.
I search for rest, but it's lost its way,
Since you left, and took the night's sweet stay.

The stars above, no longer twinkle bright,
The moon's soft glow, now a distant light.
My eyes, once closed, in slumber deep,
Now wide awake, in endless keep.

Your laughter silenced, your voice unheard,
My heart beats fast, with every waking word.
The darkness stirs, with anxious fears,
And sleep's escape, dissolves through tears.

But still I hold, on to memories made,
Of whispers shared, and love's sweet shade.
Perhaps in dreams, our hearts will meet,
And sleep's return, will bring your gentle beat.
