So Cry My Child - Poem by Lynzi Berner

My blessed child
I know it's hard
to learn to live without him

You feel broken
and damaged
and so very much alone

The days will come
the days go by
and before you know it

You'll smile again
you'll find your laugh
and one day you'll notice
that your heart is lighter
and when you think of him
you don't cry anymore

So cry my child
let your heart weep
for the love you've lost

For one day
the tears will dry
and his memory will
only produce
a nostalgic smile and a
passing thought
