So Much For You - Poem by Clay Kohut

So much for loving,
you had me becoming
someone that I could never be

And so much for heaven
was only eleven
when she first got on down her knees

So much for style,
your clothes in a pile
your room's a mess; so is your mind

and so much for grace
the look on your face
I'm trying my best to be kind

So much for sin
keep faking that grin
'till it keeps you from feeling alive

and so much for you
you're the shit on my shoe
you're the sting of an ill performed dive
