is going just as planned
I'm sinking in slow sand
tied to a rubber band

at the dead of night
some times I see rapists
sometimes a gang fight

The homeless man sets down his can and then begins to play,
singing the songs from older days,
he doesn't dress like he's been paid,
I stall to listen,

Never should have said I loved you
You said it first, what could I do
I woke up naked; you were too
I thought we were just having fun

I need to get some toothpaste
I need to get some teeth
I need to get some molars
because it's hard to eat

I started to write
back in seventh grade
I easily sunburn
I'll stay in the shade

All set for an adventure,

or the shallow southern sea,
