So Nice - Poem by Ralph Alexander

Sleep on Saturday was total bliss
I dreamt of you all through the night
When I awoke I saw it wasnt real
I only fantasized I was holding you tight

As I unclutched my pillow
I then realized you still havent returned
Once again there was no good morning
And once again my heart had burned

I had to keep myself busy
So I decided I would go for a run
I ran and ran until I couldnt anymore
It was cold and windy anything but fun

But I just had to do something
Keeping my eyes open, hoping I dont fall
I finally got home and rested
After a few hours i got the nerve to call

It was so nice to hear your voice again
It was also so sad to hear you cry
Hearing you laugh made me happy
But it still hurt hearing you say goodbye
