Philip Larkin

This is my favourite poem by Larkin. He's talking about the sun, and it always gives to us day after day. The last line, 'unclosing like a hand, you give forever' is one of my favourites too. It's also quite abstract and doesn't feature some of Larkin's usual tricks, sarcasm, profanity, fear etc. Its a very lighthearted poem and written very simplistically. This is why it earns top marks for me.
