Some And Others - Poem by Gordon Jerome

Life is a struggle that starts in the womb
and plagues us until we are laid in our tomb
Some are just lucky having life go their way
and Others may struggle each and every day
Some can exist letting fate guide them along
and Others create fate with a soul so strong
Some use their beauty to make it through life
and Others less fortunate suffer their strife
Some are born rich with not a worry or care
and Others enter life so broke down and bare
Some will not know want for a roof overhead
and Others fight rats for a place they can bed
Some have closets filled with clothes on racks
and Others only own the clothes on their backs
Some have a choice in how often they wish to eat
and Others survive off whats found on the street
Some will never accept that this life can be unfair
and Others will do their all to show that they care.
'closing thought'
if Some would help Others with their simple need
Off the fruit of their labor the whole world could feed
