Sometimes We Regret... - Poem by Sara Stowell

When we look back in memory,
Of times both good and bad,
Of friendships and of family,
Some happy and some sad.

We see how fast time slips away
And sometimes we regret,
The little things we did not say,
That we seemed to forget.

We just assumed the other knew
How much we really cared.
But the words I never said to you
Were feelings never shared.

There’s one thing you must know is true
Before you now depart.
Words can’t express my love for you.
So look into my heart.

You’ll see the things words could not say,
And what you meant to me.
Love, even death can’t take away,
Is what therein you’ll see.

Now we gather in your name,
While tears fall from our eyes.
As you return when e’re you came,
We bid you now goodbye.
