Spirituality 5 - ' Let Go' Ego - Poem by Dr. Geeta Radhakrishna Menon

A human being with
His body,
His mind,
His emotions,
Is bound with illusions!
Illusions of ‘I-ness',
Illusions of separateness,
Illusions of happiness,
Illusions of loneliness,
Illusions of powerfulness!

To be free from
The bondage
Of illusions;
One has to
'LET GO'
Duality,
Multiplicity,
Complexity,
And above all -
'Ahamkara' or Ego!

Quite true, Geeta! False ego is perhaps something that makes a person arrogant! I find it very difficult to deal with any person of inflated ego! Humility is a great virtue! When we let ego die, we are liberated from many a bondage! (Report) Reply

Your poem speaks directly to the reader's soul, dear Dr. Menon. It is the path I know I have to take but it is not so easy to do. The hardest part is the doing part for me. An important lesson and a reminder, thank you. (Report) Reply

    Thank you Ayman!
There is nothing in this world that one cannot attempt. Any good or virtuous path is difficult to tread.
Through sincere effort and a strong will, one can make things happen.
You have the potential to do every virtuous deed in this world. I am sure you will too!

Verily, the ego is the root cause of all indecency,
    Loved reading it
